It's okay. I get my fill of Matt, Al, Meredith, and Anne.
I just can't believe how different the news is out here. Yes, we have our share of murders, house fires, and fallen soldiers (may they rest in peace). However, we have our share of Hollywood that most small or middle-sized cities just don't have.
For instance, I learned last week that the Discover Channel show "Cash Cab" will be filming for two weeks around the holidays. If you take cabs in and around the Mag Mile downtown, be prepared to enter into a game show. You have the option of stepping out of the cab and taking a different cab, should you prefer. That's just cool; the show started in NYC.
And I remember when "Transformers III" was filmed this summer. The news was precious..."If you hear any massive explosions or see roaring fire balls, please disregard." I mean, c'mon, that'd be the PERFECT time for a terrorist to set off an explosion in Chicago! It's under cover of the movie! We were downtown during the weekend of filming and did not see/hear any explosions. We also did not catch any glimpses of Megan Fox, much to my feminist chagrin.
I don't have a whole lot else to say tonight. I spent the day running circles in our affiliated physician group and performing my first very tough, terrible termination. I think it can only go up from here and I plan to plant myself in the tub with a novel!
Happy Christmas week! Don't forget, we have 12 whole days of Christmas to celebrate!
