Two weeks ago, I was frantically checking weather reports, waiting for a meteorologist to predict a cataclysmic hurricane in the Gulf. I was packing, helping my folks pack, and reconfirming all the travel details inherent in a trip for four. As it was, a small hurricane brushed by the Florida coast, stirring up winds and clouds.
But clouds make really neat sunsets.

One week ago, I was laying on the beach until I absolutely had to leave for the airport. Because of our iffy weather in Florida, we stayed outside to catch every single ray while the weather was nice. Our flight didn't leave FL until 4pm last Saturday afternoon. Hence, I was on the beach until 1:58 pm, when they lovingly pulled me by my ankles, through the sand, and to the car. Sigh.
But I caught some rays and everyone at work's been calling me "Coppertone" all week.

That I can handle!
However, after this past week, I am quite ready to plan our next trip. Immanent vacations give me something to look forward to, even if the trips are a year away. Just ask Yoshi...we've been planning a trip to Ireland in 2012 for three years already. In 2013, we're taking a Grecian Island cruise out of Venice, Italy. And we've tossed around the idea of going back to Grand Cayman in 2011. Hey, if you can't dream it, you can't do it.
Since I have no idea where I'll be in 2010, we're hesitant to plan anything. That hasn't stopped Jack from researching vacation properties in the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, and Florida (of course). I know I'm going to Florida in a few weeks for the conference, but can I still have a week during which I can beach?
