Here's my quote for the day:
"Leadership is the ability to hide your panic from others."
-Unknown
I saw this on the VP of Clinical Innovation's bulletin board the other day. I think it's true; leaders are the managers who keep their emotions under wraps. I have another theory to share with you. This one is in regard to personality types:
Type A: OCD, perfectionistic, ambitious, over-achieving, competitive, workaholics who multi-task and drive themselves with deadlines. I just learned that Type A's have a much-higher incidence of coronary heart disease. Fantastic. Should I just recruit a cardiologist now?
Type B: Patient, relaxed, easy-going, unshakable, tolerant, serene.
Type AA: "stress junkies" who have small bosoms.
Type BB: super-relaxed folks who procrastinate and have an affinity for toy guns.
Type C: This is my *new* classification. Type C's have the best of Type A and Type B. They are ambitious, competitve, and perfectionistic, but their exterior is one of calmness and tranquility. They're unshakable even in the midst of insane stress. However, the stress doesn't paralyze them, it motivates.
The best business leaders I've met so far have this Type C personality. I wonder if I can acquire the Type C personality? I'm definitely a Type A, but I wonder that with enough practice, I might be able to cultivate that calm and poised exterior?
Y'know, without sedatives!?
