Squinting my eyes as I gazed up to the ceiling to process this location, it hit me that Administration is on the first floor with a north entrance! Why don't I smell smoke!? Why isn't she saying this is a drill?!
I stepped out my office and greeted a hallway full of administrators, having stepped out of their offices to question the same alarm. Dr. Fireworks affirmed that there was a fire, but it was down at the other north entrance. And with that, everyone turned around and went back into their offices.
Me? I'm like those crazies that follow the ambulances, hoping to see some action. I closed my office door behind me, grabbed my portfolio (can't go anywhere with empty arms...you look stupid and unimportant), and hit the hallway. Soon after turning down the main hallway, sure enough, I saw green smoke pouring out of their breakroom. I figured it was a popcorn or toast burning but it ended up being a fried fork. A metal fork.
Yep, that would explain the fire.
And THAT was the extent of my excitement today. Oh, and I hit a squirrel on the way home tonight. It was either that or veer into the oncoming path of a semi!
