Policies

I found out I have to write a policy (actually, several policies) detailing the creation of the stroke program at St. Fozzie's.

I have no idea when and why to write policies. I don't know when you need them and when you do not. Part of this is governance training, part of it is my lack of experience in this remaining frontier of Administration.

Alas, I went online and dug through the policies we have for St. Fozzie's. There are about 5,280. I'm not even sure I'm exaggerating. They cover Administration, Patient Care Services, Education, Rehab, Cardiovascular, and even when to dance around in a circle with glee because they have Stuffed Pepper soup in the Cafeteria.

Anyway, in that list I found a policy called "Guidelines for Issuing and Reviewing Policies."

Seems simple enough, right? A policy on how to write a policy?
