I'm not sure what the next few days will bring. I am attending the ACHE (American College of Healthcare Execs) annual conference in Chicago and will probably be beat. My morning sessions start at 7 am and one night, I'm at a reception until 9:30. I've heard this conference is uber-overwhelming, so wish me luck as I hold my nose and dive in.
I wonder if it's intentional that "ACHE" often leads to "aches!"
Actually, everyone who knows I'm attending already warned me that I'll have an ACHE hangover. Plus, some of the evenings go way into the evening (and the morning sessions start at 7 a.m.). Since I am taking the train downtown all three days, I will have to get up at (gulp!) 4 a.m.
Yes, I think an ACHE hangover is inevitable.
For as intense as it is, isn't it worth it to get a hotel nearby? Maybe not the Recency, but somewhere close enough to take a nap and re-group and get to the night activities? At least for one night if there's an early morning session? Isn't your sanity worth it?
