Well, it's been one hell of a week. And I use the word "hell" loosely. More on that another day, though.
After work this evening, Jack and I are driving into Chi-town again for an impromptu apartment-sighting. I extended several "feelers" into the community, requesting that if anyone hears of any apartments for rent, they need to tell me about them! A couple weeks went by and all I heard were the chirping crickets. I was about to sign the lease on the gorgeous townhouse, when something stopped me. I cannot really explain why I hesitated, except that I was not ready to admit defeat.
As it was, my friend from work, Coach, called me with a "hot tip" on Wednesday. Her buddy just happens to be renting out a stellar home, in my preferred price range, for the time period I need. It might not have the divine bathtub I desire, but it does have a washer & dryer, two bedrooms, and a deck. Plus, it's significantly closer to the interstate, slashing my commute-time in half. I'm carefully tempering my enthusiasm for now, but if this place meets our expectations, I will have found me a home!
As a person of faith, I believe this little coincidence is a gift from God, plopped directly in my lap. I'll let you know when/if the angels sing!
So how did the house look? Are you going to take it? Did you guys try the commute into Chicago? Did you take our advice and finally get an izoom? Those things are lifesavers!
