President Obama visited Elkhart county again on Wednesday. This is old news.
My mom (SkyBlue) received a phone call on Tuesday afternoon. An official-sounding woman called her and invited her to a presidental rally. My mom has received these invitations before, but always chalks them up to poorly-designed fundraising attempts. She declined the invitation, citing breakfast plans with her sister.
As soon as she hung up the phone, a burst of recognition shot through her brain synapses…President Obama was scheduled to be in town the following day! She quickly scanned the daily newspaper that verified her deepest fear…that attendance at the next day's presidental rally was by invitation only.
She had turned down a personal invitation to Obama's rally for breakfast with my aunt! Yikes, mom, I would have driven home from Chicago to attend something like that! I've been dying to fire some healthcare reform-related questions at Obama!
Funny, I didn't receive that phone call for a breakfast rally with The One. Hmmm?
