Extra Beds?

Because of the harsh vacation re-entry, dreary rain, non-stop schedule, and residual exhaustion from the Deer Event, I'm really tired today. It's Tuesday and I've already worked 37 hours this week. I presented at two meetings this morning, ran a Muppet system webinar at noon, and met with several neurologists this afternoon to review and discuss stroke clinical protocol. [I'm evidently presenting the clinical protocol for vote at the general medical staff meeting in early Dec.] Then I drove uptown to a doctor dinner in downtown Chicago. Some robotic OB/GYNE surgical technique was discussed and while that was very interesting, I was more excited about my red snapper dinner! All I had to eat during the day was instant oatmeal and trail mix!

Running between meetings this afternoon, I fought the temptation to visit a hidden and oft-forgotten physicians' call room. The have beds in there! This was the first time I actually (albeit briefly) considered a nap at work. Then again, I've also toyed with the idea of getting rid of my apartment and just living at the hospital.
