Home Alone

"Mom? Dad? Mom? Where are you guys?"

"It's me, Snakes. I got the stuff."

"Leave it on the doorstep and get the helloutta here."
"I know that you're in there....and that you're ALL ALONE."
"This is my house! I have to defend it!"

"Will you please tell Santa that, instead of presents this year, I'd just like my family back?"

One of my former co-workers from Muppet Corporate emailed me to tell me she played her "Home Alone" soundtrack the other day. While it's way too early for Christmas music, we had a standing joke about the first time the Home Alone CD was dusted off each season. It usually struck in mid-November, so I guess she's still on track!

I also remember my senior year in college. Please don't judge as I tell this story! I had obscene amounts of studying to do before and during finals week. For "background noise," I'd play Home Alone in my VCR. Since I'd seen the movie so many times, I could work and work and not feel like I was missing anything. Yet Kevin McCallister still kept me company during those overnight hours. In the end, I ended up wearing out my copy of Home Alone. Don't worry, my mom bought me a new copy several years ago. It's here with me, in Chicagoland, awaiting its first playing this year!

  1. I checked in for the first time in a couple weeks and read about Home Alone. Home Alone? You do realize that the movie's from 1990, right? By the way, sorry to hear about the deer, but I am glad you had a nice vacation.
