Life is Short

The atmosphere around St. Fozzie's has been somber and worrisome. One our our favorite, bubbly Vice Presidents had a sudden heart attack on Friday night. It's Bob the Builder, the heart attack hit right as he was leaving St. Fozzie's on Friday night, and he drove himself to our own Cath Lab. Since he cleared us to talk about his health situation and it's not a HIPAA violation, I feel like I'm able to post this to express the situation.

Stenting in the Cath Lab didn't work, he's on a balloon pump, and on deck for quadruple bypass surgery via Open Heart. Bob's in a scary place.

This is a very serious situation and many of us talked to him on Friday. I talked to him on Friday. While I noticed he seemed a little stressed, I didn't think anything of it. In fact, the heart attack may have already been beginning then.

It's scary. Very scary.

I see Bob the Builder in one or two meetings a day. Our administrative circles overlap and he's helped mentor me as I'm learning employee management. We're all very worried about Bob; he's well regarded in the St. Fozzie's family. I

t just goes to show that you can never take life for granted. Any one of us could get hit by a bus tomorrow or drop dead in God's mysterious plan…all the more reason to live the best life we can. I have been reminded (again) to stop and smell the flowers.

Life is short. Work hard. But don't forget to play, too.
