Golf Lessons

So today, this was the view from my office. Rather, it was the view from my golf cart at the St. Fozzie's Classic Golf Outing. It was SO hot out there today; heat indices of 100 were recorded. Because I'm not a golfer (yet), I rode around in a cart with the Physician Liasion and we socialized the whole time. I got to know that golf course really well by the end of the day! It was actually very fun, socializing with the surgeons, cardiologists, family docs, and of course, some of the administrators. But I see the administrators every day and the docs were a trip! One foursome of surgeons had multiple martinis and they kept offering us drinks.

If it wasn't 100 degrees and I wasn't officially WORKING, I would have imbibed. As it was, I behaved myself and instead got in trouble for my pink Notre Dame cap I wore. That attracted far more attention than the booze. Who knew Purdue fans were so devoted? In Tinley Park, Illinois, no less?

Yikes.

So yes, I finally agree with Jack, that I need to learn how to play golf. He's been telling me for years, that execs play golf when they want to talk frankly. Alas, I throw in the towel (and perhaps, the pink ND cap) and concede to these words of wisdom. Anyone want to join me at the driving range?

  1. Us Purdue fans are VERY serious. Just tell them that you love Harry's and you will be all set!

  4. I'll join you at the driving range as long as we can visit the batting cages afterwards. :) I'd like to try my hand at golf, again. I tried when I was younger, but the softball swing got in the way and I got frustrated and gave up.
