I'm doing the Happy Dance for a few reasons today (literally, I went into the restroom this afternoon to fix my 'do and spontaneously broke out into the Happy Dance. Dancing in front of a mirror at work is only permissible on Friday afternoon's right?!).Happy Dance #1: the week's over and I get to go home! From observing in OB to fighting the rapids on the highway to missing my very own wedding anniversary, I'm one tired pup. I can't wait to see Jack tonight and celebrate our anniversary in style. Which, by the way, probably means I'll indulge in a glass of merlot, nibble on a selection of hors d'oeuvres, and then sack out in my patio chaise lounger as my poor body crashes from the insanity of the week!
Happy Dance #2: the success of my Physician Partnership team meeting. I ran a 2 hour meeting this afternoon, with external guests, and two departments speaking. I managed the discussion, kept everyone on topic, accomplished our agenda items, and I finished with 1 minute left to spare. We're notorious for going over meeting time and I wanted everyone to know I respect their time.
Happy Dance #3: We just received our Press Ganey patient satisfaction scores for the month of July and we're at the 99 percentile from the Physician First ER initiative we embraced on July 6! This is a complete shift because, literally, our patient satisfaction scores were at the 8th percentile. EIGHTH PERCENTILE! And now we're at 99! While you guys might shrug your shoulders at this, it's huge for St. Fozzie's Administration…if our pat sat scores are high, then as a hospital, we're worth saving. I feel particularly attached to the ER since I helped design and streamline our processes and tracking reports.
Happy Dance #3.78: I was invited to a systemwide meeting of the practice administrators. My desire to learn more about physician practice management is materializing and I'm stoked!
Happy Dance #4: Jack passed another computer certification exam today! Congrats, Jack! I knew you could do it and this is just an indication of what's to come when you resume classes in fall!
Happy Dance #5: Therese interrupted happy home dance in front of said mirror! Sorry :) It was great to see you!!!
ReplyDeleteSo can you please define the happy dance? Was it similar to Chandler's dance on Friends? Or is it more of a 80's breakdancing move? Glad you had a great Friday (it's about time!). :)
