Barn Therapy

I feel old. I went shopping today and after my obligatory stops at DSW and Old Navy, I started to get in my car. Half-way in, I saw a gleaming "sale!" sign across the parking lot beckoning me, of all places, to Dress Barn.

I know what you're thinking. Dress Barn is for old ladies and shuffleboard games. As it turns out, they also have a decent selection of executive clothing in colors I haven't been able to find so far (navy, camel, pale yellow). Imagine my surprise when I found myself in the Dress Barn dressing rooms. I thought they should have called the dressing rooms "stables," just to stick with the motif. However, that probably would have given some women undue issues! I didn't buy anything, but I firmly intend to go back after work when I'm not so rushed. They have a couple of adorable little tops that require further investigation.

And as for shuffleboard, I learned how to play while on the cruise. While Yoshi and Betty were eating secondary and tertiary desserts (and then walking off said desserts!), Jack and I hit the shuffleboard areas. The boards are on the top deck (above the pool deck) and lots of people laughed at us, two goofballs in formal dinner attire, as we competed in heated shuffleboard tournaments. It reminded me of cornhole. Y'know, without the tailgating, beer, and nippy Indiana weather!

  1. Well, I shop at Dress Barn because I'm fat so I don't fit into the old lady category but I'm up for learning shuffleboard :)
